Do you know that most of our veterans - our heroes - experience a life that’s far from comfortable post-war? Just because the battle is won, doesn’t mean that the wounds are fully healed. These brave men and women are scarred for life - physically, mentally, and emotionally. The ugly truth is, even financially.
Multiple news sources over the years herald scammers of military charities for stealing what’s supposedly for the veterans well-being and personal up-keep. As if laying their lives on the line entailed them no sacrifice!
Founders and high-ranking officials of both local and international charity for veterans were charged with embezzlement and fraud left and right - and this is understandably a deal-breaker for some who only want to support our troops.
What then can our veterans rely on? Who can they turn to? When there are massive pension delays, denied rights, and limited resources, who can they count on?
Compared to what they did for the country, we can only do so much with the freedom we are enjoying now. We weeded out some of the best-reviewed veterans charities that will not pocket your donations for themselves. These organizations and movements’ only interest at heart is to give back what our veterans deserve.
1. Wounded Warrior Project
This notable organization helps veterans transition to civilian life by looking after all wellness aspects. They offer support groups, caregiving, mental and physical wellness programs, career and VA benefits counseling, and independence programs.
2. Gary Sinise Foundation
With a four-star ranking as a charity, this philanthropic endeavor of actor Gary Sinise draws benefits for our veterans through entertainment, acts of appreciation, and support for their families. On top of these, the foundation also builds adapted homes for gravely wounded soldiers, provides meals for veterans and their families across the country, and boosts morale by hosting events at military medical centers.

3. Fisher House Foundation
While their loved one is recuperating and recovering, FHF looks after military and veteran families by providing comfort homes where they can stay free of charge. You can find these special homes at VA and military hospitals worldwide, offering private rooms, community spaces, and a safe location. They also forward financial aid to support other military charities and families of fallen veterans.
You don’t need to be in the frontlines to come to their rescue. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and make this conversation a normal one - our veterans need to be heard!
