Our military heroes have been through tons of crisis in their life, yet the current crisis on the Coronavirus pandemic seems to be the worst of them all so far. With the current pandemic still rising up, our military men are affected too. More than 80,000 Americans have died since the pandemic that started early this year. That's a whole lot more than the total number of soldiers who died from each war since the beginning of the Vietnam conflict in 1964.
You can just imagine how much impact this current crisis has for our heroes in the military. That’s why the Psychological Health Center of Excellence (PHCoE) has launched a campaign called #MilPsychJargon, which includes the best ways on how to cope up with the current crisis, with a hint of humor in it. Here are some of them.
1. Embracing the situation
No doubt, the current situation sucks — much more so for the military groups. Embracing the situation we are in now is one way to cope up. It will all be better soon. Just like how they protect our country — soon we’ll overcome all obstacles as one, making everyone, especially our military men and women even stronger at the end of it all.
2. Keep a battle buddy
The COVID-19 crisis is a battle our soldiers fight too, and in the midst of it all, having a buddy to stay connected with is a great way to cope up with this battle. Modern technologies, such as mobile phones and the internet, keeps them connected to anyone anywhere in the world.
3. Staying Positive amidst the pandemic
Currently, it has been hard for everyone. However, staying positive amidst the virus is what we can do to keep up — same for our troops. Our military men and women out there on the field protecting people should protect themselves too by observing social distancing at all times, washing their hands often, avoiding touching their face, and everything else in between.
4. Adapt, and keep moving forward.
As the crisis continues, there will be many things our soldiers will have to adapt to in the service of the people and the nation. Everything will have to be done virtually for now, such as their doctor’s appointments, church services, and other events. This is a tough time but we pray for the safety of our heroes — especially our frontliners military men and women.
How do we help them cope up?
While we all have to cope up with the current crisis, it’s much challenging for our brave military heroes. How about helping them cope up by lighting up their day with a Freedom Jersey so that they can be reminded of how much they are appreciated? It will surely brighten up their day!
